Anna Guercio, a 2007 graduate of the University of Iowa’s MFA program in literary translation, has received a fellowship for emerging translators from the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). The fellowship will provide Guercio with the funds for travel to the upcoming ALTA conference in Dallas, where she and four other fellowship winners will be honored with a reading from their work.
Guercio, a translator of Spanish, is the fourth translation program graduate to win the award. In 2004, Jamie Richards (’04) and Becka McKay (’05) received the fellowship, and in 2005 Tegan Raleigh (’04) also received one.
