Internationally acclaimed essayist Wayne Koestenbaum will present a public reading from his work on Wednesday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. in Van Allen 2.

A wide-ranging cultural critic who crosses the boundaries of literature, art, music, and popular culture, Koestenbaum is widely considered one of the leading essayists in America. The author of thirteen books, including a novel, five collections of poetry, an opera libretto, and six works of nonfiction, Koestenbaum has been described by one critic as “the impossible lovechild from a late-night, drunken three-way between Joan Didion, Roland Barthes, and Susan Sontag.”

His reading is sponsored by the Nonfiction Writing Program, the Department of English, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Provost’s Office.
