Boston, MA - Ploughshares is proud to announce that the work of two graduates of the Iowa Writers' Workshop are now featured in their Spring 2014 issue: “Morning Song I” and “Fell,” poems by UI alumnus Jae Choi, and "The Sky in the Glass-Topped Table," a short story by Iowa Writers' Workshop alumnus Elizabeth Evans. This issue is guest edited by acclaimed writer Jean Thompson.

Jae Choi received her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her poems have appeared in Tin House, The Iowa Review, Poor Claudia, and other publications. She has taught poetry at Reed College and Portland State University. She lives in Los Angeles.

Elizabeth Evans is the author of five books, including Suicide’s Girlfriend (Harper Perennial, 2002) and Carter Clay (Harper Perennial, 2000). A new novel, As Good as Dead, is forthcoming from Bloomsbury. Evans’ awards include the Iowa Author Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, the James Michener Fellowship, a Lila Wallace Award, and residencies at MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and other foundations. She is Professor of Creative Writing at University of Arizona and makes her home in Tucson.
